Performance-Driven Physical Therapy

At Athletes' Edge, our team of expert physical therapists helps active adults and competitive athletes recover faster, move better, and perform at their highest potential without settling for average results.

Committed to helping athletes and active adults reach their full potential

Athletes' Edge Physical Therapy was founded on a simple but powerful belief: every athlete deserves to move pain-free, recover faster, and perform at their highest potential without fear of setbacks.

As athletes ourselves, we understand firsthand the frustration of being sidelined by pain or injury. We've experienced the limitations of traditional physical therapy that focuses only on basic recovery rather than optimizing performance.

That's why we created Athletes' Edge. A high-performance physical therapy clinic dedicated to serving Austin's athletic community with a proactive, athlete-first approach.

We combine advanced hands-on treatment, movement optimization, and injury prevention strategies to help active adults stay strong and resilient.

Our mission is simple: to help you feel strong, confident, and unstoppable when you're frustrated by pain, injury, or movement limitations. We're not just helping you recover. We're helping you come back stronger than before.

Meet The Team

Our expert team combines advanced training, hands-on care, and a passion for athletics to help you recover, move better, and achieve lasting performance gains.

Dr. Kim Lê
Doctor of Physical Therapy

Dr. Kim brings a strong background in sports medicine, strength and conditioning, and athletic performance to the Athletes’ Edge team. Originally from Massachusetts, she earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Marist University in New York and has dedicated her career to helping athletes bridge the gap between rehab and performance.

Before becoming a physical therapist, Kim coached Division III swimming and diving and has since continued her work as a strength coach, training athletes and active individuals.

She is certified in Dry Needling, certified in Running Gait Analysis, and USA Weightlifting certified, with extensive experience working with baseball players, overhead athletes, and post-surgical return-to-sport rehab including ACL and shoulder reconstructions.

Outside the clinic, you can usually find Kim lifting, training for her next marathon, or in the middle of a very serious search for Austin’s best tacos and coffee.

Dr. Justin Traxler
Doctor of Physical Therapy

Dr. Trax grew up playing competitive football, soccer and baseball but pursued pitching at Concordia University Texas where he achieved Pitcher of the Year, Regional Rookie of the year and was a 4x All American.

Trax studied in Kinesiology which allowed him to develop a passion for strength training, nutrition, and recovery/rehabilitation.

He then went on to obtain his doctorate from University of the Incarnate Word and pursued a career focused on active adults, sports performance, and post-surgical rehabilitation with an emphasis on Anterior Cruciate Ligament reconstruction (ACL). Trax is certified in Dry Needling and Running Gait Analysis. He is working toward his CSCS.

Trax focuses on building a plan of care that will get you back to the activities you love through use of manual therapy and progressive exercise prescription.

When he is not in the clinic, he enjoys strength training, hiking with his wife and daughter, and playing competitive softball with his brothers.

Dr. Emily Van Hoeck
Doctor of Physical Therapy

Dr. Emily grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she was a competitive cheerleader before moving to Texas to complete her undergraduate degree at Baylor University and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Texas State University.

Emily is passionate about treating pelvic floor dysfunctions and helping active individuals and athletes move past leaking, pelvic pain or pressure, and other pelvic floor issues so they can confidently return to running, lifting, jumping, and the activities they love. She enjoys digging deep into biomechanics and movement impairments to ensure symptoms are addressed from the ground up and resolved for the long term.

She is an ICE-Certified Pelvic Floor Specialist and is certified in Dry Needling and Running Gait Analysis, with additional mentorship in Postural Restoration.

Outside of the clinic, Emily maintains a balanced routine through strength training, yoga, HIIT cardio, and Pilates. In her downtime, she enjoys reading, cooking, and spending time outdoors with her husband and dog.

Fun fact: Emily is a twin.
